Pylon Plans

Privacy policy

Effective 28 August 2026

The short version

Pylon Plans is a static website. There are no accounts and no logins, and we set no cookies of our own. The only place we collect personal information directly is the contact form. We do use Google Analytics , which set their own cookies and are described below.

What we collect

Contact form

If you use the contact form, we receive the message you write and, if you provide it, your email address. We use that solely to respond. We do not add it to a mailing list and we do not share it.

Server logs

Our web server records standard request logs: IP address, timestamp, requested URL, referrer and user agent. These are used for operating and securing the site and for diagnosing problems. They are retained for a limited period and then deleted.

What we do not collect

  • No advertising or tracking pixels
  • No cookies set by this site under its own name
  • No fingerprinting
  • No accounts, profiles or saved searches

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people actually read. It tells us that a page was viewed, roughly where in the world from, and which page linked to it. We use it to decide what to write next — nothing on this site changes based on who you are, because we do not know who you are.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies in your browser (names beginning _ga) to tell one visit from the next, and Google processes the data on our behalf. Their description of what that involves is at How Google uses information from sites that use its services .

You can opt out. Blocking googletagmanager.com in a content blocker, or turning on Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control, prevents the script from loading at all. Google also publishes a browser add-on that opts you out everywhere. The site works identically either way — no feature here depends on analytics.

Maps

Structure and charging pages include a map, and it does not load until you press the button. Nothing is requested from any map provider before that point.

If you do press it, map tiles are fetched from OpenFreeMap. Like any request to another server, that reveals your IP address and browser to them. We do this on a click rather than automatically precisely so that the choice is yours.

The coordinates and the links to external map services are shown without loading anything, so you never need to press the button to find a location.

Third parties

Pages on this site may link to external sites — the FCC, the Alternative Fuels Data Center, charging network operators. Following those links takes you to services with their own privacy practices, over which we have no control.

The data behind this site is downloaded from federal sources by us, in bulk, on a schedule. Your visit does not trigger any request to those agencies, and they receive no information about you.

Data about people in the public records

The federal registers this site republishes contain business entity names as the registered owners of structures and charging sites. Most are companies. A small number are individuals who registered a structure in their own name, and that information is already public in the federal databases.

If you are named in one of these records and would like your entry reviewed, contact us and we will look at it. We cannot alter the underlying federal record, which is where the information originates.

Advertising

This site does not currently display advertising and sets no advertising cookies. If that changes, this page will be updated before any advertising appears, and it will describe what the advertising provider collects and how to control it.

Your rights

Because we hold almost nothing, most data-subject requests resolve quickly. If you have contacted us and want the correspondence deleted, ask and we will delete it. If you want to know what we hold about you, ask and we will tell you.

Changes and contact

Material changes to this policy will be reflected in the effective date above. Questions about privacy can go through the contact form or to [email protected].
